Puzzle Quest 3 is a free and upcoming puzzle game for mobile devices by developer 505 Games Srl. It's a new installment in the Puzzle Quest match 3 RPG franchise. In it, players will explore mysterious dungeons, battle a variety of enemies, and search for treasure and powerful gear.
Similar to its developer's other puzzle releases like Gems of War, Puzzle Quest 3 offers easy-to-learn but hard to master gameplay mechanics. It requires quick-thinking and strategic planning from players as they face tougher and more clever opponents. Every turn helps charge up their skills to deal devasting damage.
Same formula but better
Match-3 style puzzlers have been popular for many years now, and releases from the Puzzle Quest franchise are great examples. They feature intuitive controls that make them accessible to newcomers while offering strategic gameplay and RPG mechanics to long-time fans of the sub-genre. Puzzle Quest 3 is no different in that regard, taking cues from the tried and tested formula. It does improve upon it in many little ways, though.
Puzzle Quest 3 brings updated beautiful 3D graphics, making it the franchise's best-looking release yet. You also get to choose from 5 character classes this time around, including the Paladin, Shaman, and Necromancer. Each has its own set of skills to master and unique storylines to uncover. The gameplay is still strategic and challenging like it has always been, with plenty of loot and rare gear to help in battles.
In addition to the daily quests and weekly bounties, you get a more robust multiplayer experience via PvP battles and real-time co-op with up to 3 players. The game has a planned release sometime in March 2022, but you can already pre-register to get notified as soon as it comes out. You also get in-game bonuses and rewards by doing so.
The best Puzzle Quest game yet
All in all, Puzzle Quest 3 is shaping up to be the best and most comprehensive release by the franchise yet. While it doesn't introduce anything new, it does build upon and refine what's already there to offer a fun and polished experience overall. Whether you're new to the series or have been a long-time fan, there's plenty to like about it.
